Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Recognizes a female business owner, who is equal partner or majority shareholder with a registered business in Manitoba operating for a minimum of two years as a fulltime operator.

WEYA Prize for BIPOC Nominees

Recognizes a Black, Indigenous or People of Color (BIPOC) female entrepreneur or business leader who has made a significant impact in their industry and has demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and resilience.

WEYA Prize for Rural Nominees

Recognizes a woman from a rural or remote community in Manitoba who is an entrepreneur or business leader who has made a significant impact for their community or industry and has demonstrated ingenuity, resourcefulness and flexibility.

WEYA Prize for Gig-Economy Nominees

Recognizes a woman who uses her talent, creativity and savvy to her passions into an income generating side hustle. While she may be managing a business on her own, she may also have a small team working in her micro- or small-scale enterprise.

Restriction on Eligibility

To help ensure the awards process is open and accessible: past winners are ineligible to participate for awards, as well as past and current board members.

Active membership is encouraged prior to nomination, however nominees are able to join WBOM membership as part of their submission packages.
